David Neilands was posted to Barbados in 1977 as a member of the British Foreign Office.
After postings to Germany and Iran he returned to Barbados in 1981 and took up a position with HCA Advertising as a Senior Account Executive working with major local and extra regional Brands.
In 1985 he joined Super Centre Ltd as Marketing Manager, he became the driving force for many enterprising initiatives including the conceptualization of the long running “Run for your Money” tv programme. He was appointed Marketing Director of The Company in 1993 and Managing Director in 2001 a post he held until his retirement earlier this year.
He sits on a number of boards within the Neal & Massy Barbados group of companies, is a former Senior Vice President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce, and now a Council member. He is a board member of the National Initiative for Service Excellence( NISE) and also serves on the recently formed Task Force for Built Heritage and with the Non Communicable Disease Commission.
For many years he was an active member of the renowned Green Room Theatre, was a committee member for the management of Stage One Theatre, and is a board member of the Earl Warner Trust. He is married to the former Rosemary Wilkinson known for her contribution to dance as the former Artistic Director of the Barbados Dance Theatre. They have two sons, Samuel and Nicholas who both reside and work in Barbados.
